SharkByte
Inspired by the beach I frequented growing up—New Smyrna Beach, the shark bite capital of the world—SharkByte was my final project in a CNC machining course. Machined on a Haas VF2, the shark’s mouth holds the very same USB drive loaded with the G-code that brought it to life. Its tail? A bottle opener—only usable once the machining is complete. Load the file, run the code, and when the chips stop flying… crack one open and celebrate with SharkByte.
2025 Update: Currently remaking on a 5-axis CNC at Duke to improve surface finish … stay tuned!
